Most people don’t realize that many common houseplants are toxic to their pets. Lilies - of all types - are particularly poisonous to cats and can cause kidney failure within 36 hours of ingesting even the tiniest piece of plant. Even if your pets do not show interest in nibbling on your potentially dangerous plants, it’s a good idea to keep them where you know your pet cannot get to them - or, better yet, remove them from your home all together. It’s not worth the risk! There are many species of common and attractive plants that are safe to keep in a home with pets.
